YOUR INVITATIONBring What You’re Carrying
There was a time when the church built the things people still queue to see. The Sistine Chapel ceiling and a dome that held millions of bricks without scaffolding. Bach's thousand compositions and Newton crediting his faith for the questions that made him famous. Painting, sculpture and music flourishing alongside advances in law, trade, engineering and medicine, in the same cities, often in the same people.
That's the part we forgot. Not that the church once made art, but that the artists and the scientists and the builders were in the same room, and something happened there that doesn't happen when they're kept apart.
It was a culture full of people who believed God was worth asking, and asked Him about everything they touched.
Charity's conviction, after years of this, is that another one is coming. A co-creation movement that will need the whole panorama of culture as its playing field, arriving through ordinary people willing to lay down old assumptions and ask God for something new.
It starts the same way it always has. Not with a strategy, but with people close enough to Him to hear what He's saying.
